The Final Pages of Persephone’s Fall

Well, I’ve finished posting one novella to WordPress … I can’t say it was the easiest experience in the history of man, but it wasn’t the hardest either, and Chapter 7 of Persephone’s Fall has now been posted to the Writing section. Here you’ll find nine pages. I still think Seph’s story is one of the best things I’ve ever written, and I’m still planning on redrafting it at some point. I don’t think there’s likely to ever be much of a market for modern versions of Greek myths, particularly illustrated ones, but I’m not really worried about what the market is.

The key now is to find an illustrator who I love, and who I can actually afford to pay. Who knows … maybe I’ll sell a book or two and be able to accomplish that sometime in the near future.

I hope those of you who are reading the story are enjoying it. It’s one of my favorites, for sure — less personal than Voices (which was an adaptation of one of the oldest stories I’ve written), but I came to like it a lot.

I’m working on a new tutorial – it seems like many of the visitors to this page are coming for that type of contet, so hopefully I’ll have some more for y’all soon!

Chapitre Six de Persephone’s Fall

Chapter six of Persephone’s Fall has been posted to the Writing section. I kind of feel like a broken record, here, but I want to get the story finished with. Chapter seven is the final chapter, and it makes up for chapter six’s anemic three pages with nine … that’ll be coming later this week. For now, enjoy this brief glimpse into Seph’s decidedly unpleasant dream land. Also her decidedly unpleasant dinners with her family … that Demeter’s a real bitch.

I think I’m probably going to post Voices all at once, rather than in chapters the way I’m doing with Seph. It’ll make life easier for one and all. Course, it’ll mean I have to come up with actual original content for my news items instead of just alerting people to what I’ve been posting … but maybe that’s for the best!

We continue in this chapter with the art that I’m at least vaguely happy with. Sometimes people’s hair even looks like hair! Also, page 40′s art is pretty crazy. We get back to some seriously craptacular art in Chapter 7, but I had to get back into the swing of things after ending up in the hospital for … I think four days. I forget. It was a while ago.

Chapter 4 of Persephone’s Fall Posted

I’ve posted Chapter 4 of Persephone’s Fall to the Writing section. That’d be pages 27 through 32, for those who care. That leaves just three more chapters, a total of 17 pages, left, so we should have that wrapped up pretty soon. Then I guess I’ll start re-posting one of my other novellas!

Got some work done on a novel, today, as well. It’s a first draft, but I’m almost done with it and I’m going to focus on getting it wrapped up this month. I’ve got some interesting stuff going on, on the fiction front, so hopefully I’ll more news about all that soon!

WHY YES! Yes it is! It’s more Persephone’s Fall. Specifically, it’s pages fifteen through twenty-one, ie: the rest of chapter 2. You know, as I’m posting these I’m filled with fond remembrance. Yes, fond remembrance and … utter … distaste for my crappy artwork.

Someday, I am going to pay someone to re-draw this series, whether or not I ever redraft it.

The Return of Persephone’s Fall

I’ve noticed that someone has been searching for “Persephone’s Fall” and ending up at this site, and probably wondering what happened to the story. Well, the truth is that WordPress’s page management is a bit on the weak side and I wasn’t sure I wanted to add my longer works to the site right now … but if people are actively looking for them, I guess it makes sense to go ahead and do so.

As a result, Chapter 1 (the first six pages) of Persephone’s Fall has been added back to the site. I’ll be adding the rest of the chapters over the next few days. You can head on over to the Writing Page or directly to the Persephone’s Fall Index if you want to check it out.
