Hurk … so I was making some changes to the way people sign in, in order to stop spambots from signing up and cluttering up my user database, and I accidentally deleted everyone. Whoops.

This only affects like maybe 15 real people (out of over 500 user accounts … ugh), but for those fifteen of you, my apologies! Please feel free to re-sign-up, and I promise I’ll never, ever do what I just did again. Thanks!

Sorry for the month of no updates! The whole “moving to Indiana and getting settled” thing proved rather complicated and time consuming. In the next week, you can look forward to: a review of Hubery Selby’s “Last Exit to Brooklyn,” a general update on life in Indiana, and an exciting announcement regarding The Blood That Bonds – my vampire novel. Hola, just a quick update to explain why it is that I’ve done nothing except review books all month — basically I’ve done nothing this month except read and work on the Crispy Gamer redesign, which we’ll be launching June 1st. All of my other hobbies are at a temporary standstill, and I just haven’t had much to blog about because of that.

I’ve got a few more reviews coming, and then more regular updates will resume once we get into June.

It’s been a busy April and it’s going to be an even busier May. We’re doing some massive projects on Crispy Gamer over the next six weeks, so I may not be around too much, but I’ll try to get some posts in. I’m reading four separate books right now (Age of Spiritual Machines, Harry Potter 3, Finding an Angel Investor, and Creating a World Wide Rave), so I’ll probably finish at least one of those and post a review on it. I’m sure you’re all really excited to hear what I think of Finding an Angel Investor.

Additionally, I’ve got an editorial in the editing phase for Crispy, so I’ll post when that goes up.

Additionally part two, I’m working on something fairly awesome with my friend Gabe that we’re hoping to launch this month. More on that soon!

I made some minor changes to the CSS and the site’s PHP code so that the tag cloud is less crappy, and added some links in case you want to “become a fan” of this blog on facebook.

Upcoming Site Projects

Well, I was planning on doing an update last night but instead I ended up staying awake until 2am working on Crispy Gamer. So I’ll be working on an update tonight. In fact, here’s what I’m planning on doing this week:

write cDebris Tutorial #3: CSS-based rollover buttons
add Voices, Chapter 1 to the site
post some cool textures that people can download and use for website backgrounds

I’ve also been running a test this month, advertising the site on Facebook for a couple of dollars a day. It’s producing views, but I’m not sure if those folks are ever coming back or not. Since I don’t run ads or otherwise make money off the site, it’s not really a big deal how much traffic it gets, but I was curious what kind of folks would click through. I’ll probably stop advertising there at the end of the month, but it was an interesting test.

I am basically all set up on my new PC. Windows Vista is pretty cool. I guess people were expecting something totally revolutionary compared to XP … and it’s definitely not. It’s more like a nice, evolutionary version of XP, so for those who were expecting more, it was probably a huge disappointment. Having read all of the bad press, however, I found myself expecting it to be terrible, and generally speaking I’m quite pleased with the UI changes and improvements.

I still think it’s insane that they haven’t made Taskbar Shuffle a native part of Windows, however.

Oh, and I’m removing the “Latest Photos” sidebar widget until I get a new digital camera to replace the one I left in a cab by mistake. I’d have done it already, but paying for my wedding kinda takes precedence!

My computer was bluescreening like crazy, then with the cable modem dying for 24 hours, and then with the assembling and setting up the new PC (still not quite done) … not a good set of days for blog entries!

Relatively regular updates (at least 3-4 times a week, as has largely been the case since I re-launched this site) will resume as of tomorrow.

A couple additions

I’ve added some things to the Writing page including a piece of micro-fiction I wrote last year called “Now Back to the Action.”

I’ll be adding more writing over the next few weeks, not to mention continuing to blog, post tutorials, clean up the site, etc. For the next four days I’m headed to Syracuse, New York, so there may not be any updates until Monday.
